Pancake Mornings

During the weekends we always make sure that everyone is present for breakfast. This is the only time we can all sit down for breakfast without having to worry about being late for school or catching the train to work. This is the reason why I wake up much earlier during the weekends so we can all have a sumptuous breakfast.

My weekend mornings would always require my round griddle so I can stack pancakes for the entire family to enjoy. I would work my menu from there, sometimes get some eggs, sausages and bacon done. My kids love it whenever I prepare a few bowls of treats they can mix in with their pancakes, so they can customize and make their own according to their taste. We would then sit on the table for a few hours enjoying each others company.

My greatest frustration in life is to become a chef, so when I became a mother and decided to stay at home I thought of the many possibilities that were laid down before me. I was the queen of the house and I can do whatever I want. Managing the household I was also in charge of taking care of the food I need to serve to my family. It was like having my own restaurant inside the house.

I was able to invest in a number of kitchen appliances as the months went by after we moved in our new home. I wanted to make sure that I can continue on with my cooking and passion for food, only this time I had a better kitchen and bigger space to work with. Being a chef for the family is more than enough for me especially when I see my kids enjoying their food well.

Given my different work schedule, I would usually not be able to go to the mall in order to do some shopping because I would be right at home sleeping in time for my shift. Being a nurse can really require a person to adjust, especially when it comes to one’s time. It can be frustrating at times when you are not able to live normally and be with loved ones because of your schedule.

This is the reason why I would simply opt to shop online for the things I need instead of not getting some sleep at all which can affect my work. This is crucial since I deal with lives here. Just the other week I got myself some aluminum cookware since the ones I have at home are all screaming of replacement. Thank goodness for online shopping; otherwise, I would not have anything to use at all.

Time Alone

After I have broken up with my boyfriend, I realized that there were a lot of things I have been missing out on since the time we got hooked as a couple. There were things I had given up because they were simply things which my boyfriend was not particularly interested in. I kind of lost myself from the relationship and realized only now that I was out of it that I lived his life and not mine.

This was why I decided to get back on the things I used to love such as baking to help find myself once again. I ordered some cupcake papers and got myself a few ingredients from the grocery to stack up on supplies whenever I feel like baking these goodies. I know it would take some time before I can fully recover, but I am glad I was actually out of this relationship.

Moving Out

Right after graduation from college, I went home only to get some of my stuff and finally move in to a new apartment much close to where I would be working. This is the first time I would get to live independently without having to depend on my parents for anything, and I was so excited about the whole idea. Slowly though I realized that the responsibility was already kicking in.

One of the things I first purchased were some bedroom accessories so I can at least sleep comfortably in my new home. From there I moved on to purchase things which are a necessity for me to eat well. Good thing I was able to find some discount cutlery sets and plates so I need not have to spend too much given my limited budget. After the kitchen I would then move to furnish my living room area for some entertainment systems.

Weekend Warriors

Whenever the weekend comes, my kids would wake up early in the morning without having me to drag them out of bed. They know weekends are pancake and waffle time in our house, and they look forward to these sessions each time. Since I hold a full time job, I hardly have the time during the work week to prepare a really grand breakfast for the kids.

During the weekdays, we would usually settle for cereals. When weekend comes though, we have everything you can possibly imagine in a breakfast table. I have a stainless steel bowl set which I make use of to prepare my batter, glaze my toppings and scramble the eggs. My kids would sometimes even help me out in the kitchen to get things done faster. Spending weekends with my family is the best feeling ever!

Spending Time

I would always find ways on how to surprise my girlfriend whenever I can. As a small book shop owner she tends to be very busy waking up early in the morning. As a freelance photographer, I have all the time in the world whenever I have no clients to meet up with. This setup allows us to freely see each other without having to worry about our schedules.

One of the things she loves is whenever I come over to her shop and bring along one of those traditional picnic baskets. We would then head out to the park right in front of her store, and eat whatever I have prepared for her for lunch. She enjoys these surprises and breaktime rendezvous, and always appreciates the effort I put in our relationship. Hopefully things will flourish even better over time.
